Acne Treatments: Before and After

Acne is one of the most common skin conditions, especially for teenagers. However, it can also affect adults in the form of regular acne or acne rosacea. Acne can consist of blackheads, whiteheads and/or cysts. The common type of acne can be mild with only a few rare pimples, moderate, or severe with large pimples, cysts which extend into the deeper layer of the skin and nodules. At times these cysts can be very painful and the cysts and nodules can leave behind scars.

Mild acne can be treated with over the counter topicals but severe acne is much more stubborn. Severe acne can lead to emotional distress which will just make it worse. This distress can manifest itself with depression, anxiety and poor self-esteem.

When good acne treatment is successful it will prevent further outbreaks, prevent scar formation, and help with the emotional distress.

Treatment

Acne can be treated in many different manners depending on the severity and the goals. The range of traditional treatment may include topical OTC products with benzoyl peroxide, prescription topicals with combination of benzoyl peroxide and topical antibiotics, birth control pills, oral antibiotics or Accutane which may have severe side effects. Additionally, a medication called Spironolactone can also be used when acne is exacerbated by hormonal problems.

The ultimate purpose of these treatments are to kill the acne bacteria, reduce sebaceous oil production and shrink pores.

Acne Facial (75 minutes)

Acne facial includes deep pore cleansing and exfoliation, blackheads, whiteheads and scars. This type of facial is aimed at minimizing pores with special facial masks, restoring natural glow to the skin and prevention of future acne breakouts. Recommendations will be made for use of special products for acne prone skin to be used in between facial treatments. In The Park Med Spa, we have experts specializing in treating acne facials. Our results are very impressive as a result of many years of experience and knowledge.

Aerolase®Neo

The Aerolase®Neo is an aesthetic medical laser that provides a premium patient experience unrivaled in dermatology and aesthetics. Uniquely gentle, the Neo offers complete skin rejuvenation in a safe, effective, manner and is a tolerable treatment for all skin types and tones.

The Neo’s unique 650-microsecond technology is attracted to a combination of melanin, hemoglobin, and water in the skin tissue. In aging and sun damaged skin melanin contributes to hyperpigmentation.

The laser energy passes through the skin to selectively heat these targets, without adverse effects, resulting in clearer and healthier skin. The 650-microsecond pulse eliminates discomfort during treatment and provides safe, and highly efficacious results for even the darkest skin tones.

Syneron Emax Work?

Emax is powered by Syneron’s exclusive elōs technology, which makes use of combined bipolar radiofrequency and optical energy to address a multitude of skin concerns. Upon contact with the skin, Syneron Emax’s handpiece cools the treatment area for improved patient comfort. The combined energy then heats the deeper layers of the skin, inducing controlled microinjuries. The body then responds by increasing the production of collagen in the area, removing old damaged skin and replacing it with new healthy skin cells. This eventually results in smoother, radiant, younger-looking skin that is free from any imperfections. This treatment is used to treat fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, textural irregularities from sun exposure.

At The Park Med Spa we have a unique approach that is producing excellent results. The combination of laser technology and acne targeted facials, with our expert estheticians. The Aerolase Neo Laser is a new technology that can target acne by killing bacteria, reducing the sebaceous glands and shrinking the pores. At The Park Med Spa an emphasis is also placed on proper skin care and a healthy life style. These treatments can be done every 2-3 weeks for a total of 4-6 treatments. A home regimen should also be followed for best results.
