The air is crisp, and everyone seems to be in a great mood. As we're getting ready for the last few weeks of the year, we can't help but look back on everything we've been through, and it calls for a moment of honest reflection. December 18th marks the beginning of Hanukkah when the Menorah is lit with 8 ascending candles to match each day that one pure bottle of olive oil lasted miraculously in the Holy Temple. Hannukah is also called feast of dedication, feast of light or feast of Maccabees. We're so grateful for this magical season of hopes and sparkling lights. HAPPY HANNUKAH!

Most Effective Skincare Tips During Wintertime
Winter is here and we love the cozy feeling of a night in and the festive spirit that this season brings, but we don’t love what it does to our skin. Winter can wreak havoc on skin, The cold weather and low humidity levels work together to rob skin of moisture, leaving your skin feeling dry, tight, and often irritated.
If you're worried about your skin suffering during the winter months, don't be! With a little bit of expert knowledge and some everyday TLC, you can banish dullness, dryness, and breakouts. Here are some tips to help you get through the winter with healthy, happy skin
1. MOISTURIZE REGULARLY
Thicker moisturizers are always better than lighter lotions when it comes to trapping and sealing in moisture. By using Ceramides, Hyaluronic Acid, and Petrolatum within your thick cream, you will create a barrier that prevents moisture loss and damage caused by outside irritants. This will help your skin stay hydrated and prevent dryness and flakiness. The Park MedSpa’s Favorites are Moisturizing Dew Cream by Art Derm and Haven’s Natural Raspberry Spinach Moisturizer
2. STAY HYDRATED
Did you know that your skin is made up of 64% water? So, it's no surprise that proper hydration is key to keeping your skin looking and feeling its best. When you don't drink enough water, your skin can become dehydrated, leading to a dull appearance, increased fine lines and wrinkles, and a greater susceptibility to breakouts.
Make sure you're drinking at least 2 liters of water (or 6-8 glasses) every day to keep your skin healthy and hydrated. Your skin will thank you for it!
3. GET A HUMIDIFIER
By placing this humidifier in the room where you spend the most time, you will maximize the amount of water in the air - helping to prevent your skin from drying out. It may sound like a drastic measure, but it is much better for your skin than central heating which can often make the air too dry.
4. KEEP UP WITH YOUR SKINCARE ROUTINE
For optimal skin health, continue cleansing your face twice a day. Not only does this help to remove impurities such as dirt and excess oil, but it also hydrates and prepares the skin for moisturizers, serums, and masks. As the weather gets colder, it's important to change up your beauty routine to make sure your skin stays healthy and hydrated. One thing you might want to do is switch to a different cleanser than the one you use during the rest of the year. If you find that your skin is getting especially dry, buying a moisturizing cleanser can help alleviate the problem. When it comes to toning, avoid using alcohol-containing products, as these will dry your skin out further. Look out for organic beauty products that use natural ingredients instead. Continue to moisturize twice daily too; if you’re finding that it’s less effective as the cold weather creeps in, massage your moisturizer into your skin more thoroughly (for 30 seconds) to maximize its effects.
5. EXFOLIATE YOUR SKIN
If you find that your skin is feeling dry, it's important to not only moisturize but to also exfoliate. This will help sloughing of any dead skin cells that could be clogging your pores, causing blemishes, and breakouts. Exfoliating 2-3 times a week should do the trick!
6. ALWAYS WEAR SUNSCREEN
Just because the sun’s UVB rays are not as strong in the winter, it doesn’t mean that UVA rays are not present. They can still cause you to age. So, remember to wear SPF 30+ every morning and reapply if you plan on doing any outdoor winter activities. Few of our favorites are ART DERM PHYSICAL BARRIER SUNSCREEN , Antioxidant Mineral Powder Sunscreen SPF 50 Sun Protection + Oil Control and Oil-Free Tinted SPF 50
Treat your skin this winter season! It's important to get facials all year round to keep your skin looking its best. In winter, expert recommend you book a facial treatment every 5-6 weeks, since this is how long it takes for your skin to complete one full cycle. During summer, you may be able to get away with fewer treatments (depending on your skin type); but in winter, you'll benefit from monthly facials to tackle dullness and keep your skin hydrated. The Park MedSpa is here to help you keep your skin healthy and glowing in all seasons!
